Hydrolysed pea is a newer form of pea protein and is sometimes also referred to as instant pea or clear pea protein.

We at NZProtein believe that this product may be better than regular pea protein as a post workout source of protein because the amino acids in hydrolysed pea protein may be digested and utilised by the body faster.

Hydrolysis is the process where pea protein is further processed with enzymes to break down protein chains into smaller units which are “pre-digested” by the body, meaning they may bypass digestion and be absorbed by the blood stream faster.

This product is partially hydrolysed which also improves the texture and renders the taste more neutral than regular pea protein.
